  • Kristi Shuman (ESL Teacher): Requested $100 for Classroom snacks, classroom reward incentives, WIDA ACCESS testing incentives. Each student needed to take 4 domains of the test, so after each test they got a small reward. “You’re such a SMARTIE”, “You’re one smart COOKIE”, “You’re so SHARP” and “Testing is o”fish”ally over!”

Teachers Pay Teachers Grants:

  • None

Teacher Grants:

  • 1st Grade: Requested $500 for Extra Field Trip Experience: We will use it to offset the cost of transportation and admission to the Philadelphia Zoo.
  • Special Education: Requested $188.15 for multi-tiered language intervention: We would like to purchase an intervention program called “Story Champs” https://www.languagedynamicsgroup.com/product/story-champs-2-0-english/ – We use a variety of programs with our students. Some students have needs in the area of language. The interventionists recommended this program to help our students in this area and this would help supplement what we are already using. I (Mary Templin) plan to use $100.00 of my own teacher grant $ towards the total cost ($300.00) because I intend to use it with 1 student in particular. I checked with my learning support colleagues and they are in agreement that this could also help some of their students and they agree with using some of our grade level grant money towards the purchase.
